Jude McCann
As a student of Dr David Mooney at TU Dublin Conservatoire, Jude recently graduated with a 1st Class Honours BMus Degree.
Proudly participated in many competitions, both nationally and internationally, including: Irish Freemasons Young Musician of the Year, ESB Feis Ceoil, Newpark Music Festival, Piano Academy of Ireland National Piano Festival, EPTA Ireland Piano Festival and Young Pianist of the North International Competition, United Kingdom.
In 2022, Jude took 2nd prize in the Irish Freemasons Young Musician of the Year competition, and his performance was aired on RTE Lyric FM. In 2018, Jude won the Katherine Duffy Memorial Award at DIT, Conservatory of Music and Drama. At ESB Feis Ceoil 2016, he won the Dorothy Stokes Cup for Junior Sonata and was a finalist in the Patricia Read Memorial Cup that year. At Newpark Music Festival in 2014, Jude won 1st Prize in Piano Under 16 and 1st Prize in Junior Piano Sonata. Jude proudly performed in the main auditorium of the National Concert Hall as part of the Prize Winner’s ESB Feis Ceoil concert in 2016.
He has performed for several internationally renowned pianists in masterclasses, most notably John O’Conor, Barry Douglas and Pierre Laurent-Aimard.
Jude enjoys teaching students of all levels, in recent years has taken great satisfaction bringing classical music to autistic children in a special education setting.
